Colin Bowern, officialCOMMUNITY
Colin Bowern is the Vice President of Technology at Official Community in Toronto, Canada. Through his work with the clients, Colin and the team help artists understand how to leverage and make better decisions on how to build their online community using technology. Prior to joining officialCOMMUNITY Colin came to officialCOMMUNITY from Microsoft where he was a Senior Consultant with the Microsoft Consulting Services unit working enterprise customers on their adoption of Microsoft technology. Colin has delivered a number of in-person and Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) webcast sessions since the early part of the decade on topics ranging from .NET Development to infrastructure deployment with the Microsoft platform. In addition to technical talks, Colin participates in the community through active contribution on the MSDN and ASP.NET Forums, publishing code examples, sharing experiences through his blog, and attending local user group events. On the publishing end Colin has provided technical review services for Addison-Wesley's .NET development series, the Windows Server 2003 series from Microsoft Press, and co-authored Microsoft exam study guides for both Windows Server 2003 and Windows Serer 2008 for Syngress Publishing. In addition he also holds a Masters of Science from the University of Liverpool.
